Body development

Ever required

“My dear, here we must run as fast as we can, just to stay in place. And if you wish to go anywhere you must run twice as fast as that.” ― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland.

From conception to a certain point in our lives, development of Yom is as easy and natural to us as breathing. Most could do more than they do, but development still happens. However, all of us have, or will, reach a point in their lives where the development of Yom begins to become more and more difficult, requiring effort and work just to maintain against the decay of age, the wear and tear of use (and abuse), disease and the atrophy of inaction.

Totality

Everything contributes to development of Yom, the food you eat, the sleep you get, they way you move, how you exercise, the way in which you react to events of life, and much much more.

Whether your goal is health, fitness, or performance athletics, Yomonsni methodology can help to get you there.

Nutrition

Accoring to the old saying, "You are what you eat." All of your Yom starts with what you consume and take in. However, this is not really an encompassing statement about the outcome on your Yom. Instead, the experience is more nuanced.

Two carrots grown in different conditions may both look nicely orange and healthy to the eye. They are likely however to contain very different levels of trace elements and vitamins. So, this is one complication to the concept - what are the details of what you eat.

Lately, there is a growing awareness that when you eat has significant impact on you. If you take the same intake, not just calorie count, but actual same food, and simply spread it through the day differently, there are radically different patterns in how you process it and what moods you might be feeling as a result. When do first eat in the morning, before or after exercise, or do you have your first meal closer to lunch to push your intermiitent fasting. What is your first meal, fat and protien rich, or lighter fruit based or a mix?

When changing your eating habits, there is one more thing to consider - your intestinal microbiome. This is the range of microbes that live symbiotically within your intenstines. They are necessary and help you to digest what you consume, so don't get freaked out at the thought. As you change your eating habits, those that flourished on what you ate before will put up a fight and not die quietly, instead they signal your brain with cravings. Overcoming this is best handled by making gradual changes.. start to feed and grow the microbes that will do well with the eating patterns you want, and as they begin to multiply their happy signals to your brain will cancel out the hunger/craving signals from the group of microbes you are replacing.

"While you can eat yourself thin, you must work yourself fit." (and more on that below)

Activity

When one thinks about activity to develop the Yom, the conditioned expectation calls it exercise. However, activities to improve the Yom extend far beyond a trip to the gym or going for a run. Fundamental choices as simple as the way you sit, the posture you carry yourself in through the day, and whether you take the stairs or elevator also have an impact on your development.

When it comes to actual exercise, there are four main areas to think about: strength, intensity, flexibility, endurance. There is a lot of overlap between them, you need strength to start the intensity and endurance to keep it up for example, but for keeping things simple in this overview we'll treat them separately here.

Strength is your ability to move things that don't want to be moved (including your own body), or to hold them where they don't want to be.

Intensity is your ability to do things quickly or at your maximum ability to perform. Think about it as a sprint.

Flexibility is your own ability to move, stretch and contort. We will also include balance in this umbrella area.

Endurance is your ability to sustain effort over time.

A well rounded development plan for your Yom will ensure that all of these elements are addressed.

Well being

Development of your Yom must also address your overall well being. From the patterns of your sleeping, to the hygiene, habits and environmental impacts that can undermine or enhance your efforts. Your Siazul will work with you to faciliate the creation of a plan so that you can achieve your goals in Yom development.
