Yomonsni

What is it?

How did it start?

The Beginning

Yomonsni started from an innate desire to combine things to make something better. Massage is a great state of relaxation of body, but within most schools of massage there is very little, if any, attention paid to the mind. Knowing the mind to body connection, how much deeper could a massage state go if the mind were addressed and relaxed as well using something of a guided meditation.

Always enjoying helping others, the concept grew to incorporate the idea of facilitating personal growth. How to enable one to become a well rounded and truly aware person, to find their potential and their passions, to better care for themselves, and to improve their interactions with others. Folding this into a series of massages seemed like it would go well, enabling a deep relaxation and catalyzing personal growth with pleasure.

The Deepening

Never one to shy from challenging thoughts, especially my own, Yomonsni grew as concepts were challenged. What does personal growth look like? What are the foundational themes and how do they inter-relate? What does the current state of science (exercise, nutrition, psychology, medicine, social psychology, etc) say about all of these things? What lessons come from historical practices? Where does real evidence lead?

Each layer of learning showed pieces, some of which fit well, some of which are still in need of fitting into the puzzle. Slowly a framework has come together, a way of thinking, growing, teaching, living and being. Each element working with the others, inclusively, enabling enrichment of thought, purpose and satisfaction.

The future

Yomonsni is in no way complete. It probably never will be as humanity continues to learn about itself. As Yomonsni draws from science and follows the evidence, it needs to incorporate new understandings as they arise. Being a framework rather than a dogma, Yomonsni is able to grow and change over time while still being true to itself.

True growth of Yomonsni happens as more people get involved, as the knowledge is applied and made useful.
